¿¿¿¿viruses???

In the genetic area is very common the use of viruses to implant genes in bacteria’s and various types of cells, with this technique the genetic scientist created a lot of transgenic cells and organism, the short story of how this work is that when the scientist reach to isolate the gen that he’s want to implant in a cell, they create a virus to transport and “inject “ the gen in the cell , the viruses do this all the time in the nature (in fact this is the reproductive mechanism of the viruses, the only difference is the genetic material that they carry inside of them), when the virus and the selected gen is created and ready to “infect” the cell with the new genetic material, the viruses inject the gen in too the cell and cell start to codify the information that the gen have.

This is a very important tool and was one of the tools of the nature to evolve some organism. I chose this topic because the field in that I want to develop myself is on the horizontal gene transfer (HGT) area and this technique is used in this area, this are have a very promising future, the cure and transformation of any gene that we want to change, like the ayes color or some types of diabetes, this area is for my the future of the medicine and the cosmetic area, but have a lot of ethical problems and for this reason this area can’t develop so much as they can.

  2. Nice post, work with virus is an old technique but it keeps current in science

  3. Interesting topic, even it has ethical problems, I know that you would change the current situation of viruses application, you just must be careful! :D

  5. Transgenic cells changed the world, and they will probably continue on the top 10 of the best discoveries of the century
